23 Customer Reviews of “Reputation Armor”

I have hired 3 companies in the past to “remove” a rip-off link from a scam site, none of them got me results as promised in writing and none of them would refund my money. These companies basically scammed me. I then got an email from reputation armor saying they could help. I contacted reputation armor and they allowed me to pay them after the link started to move down the Google rank. I had nothing to lose so I said ok. After 3 months the link is now on the 7th page of search pages. Reputation Armor did this for me, I paid them in full and now the link after another 2 months is on page 3 now. Reputation Armor said these links can move up and down and they are working on getting it deeper for me now. I will keep you updated on the progress. I rate reputation armor as a pretty good company and trust them at this point.

A local newspaper had a nasty article about me that was full of lies and reputation armor went to bat for my name and we came out of the situation with a clean online search rep. The article was like #3 on search and now is ranked #43. Reputation Armor knows what they are doing and they did me a great service.

I paid reputation armor $3000+ for search engine work (reputation management) and 2 weeks after I paid them my attorney got the link deleted and I no longer need their service. I emailed and called reputation armor and asked for a refund and they agreed to a refund less the fees they sent on registering 4 domain names and a back linking fee that they could not reverse. I thought that was fair and agreed to the amount of $2500.00 refund. After waiting 3 weeks I still had no refund. Today I finally see a credit to my bank account for the amount. I trust reputation armor and would us ethem again based off the fact they refunded me my money like they agreed. It did take longr than I though to get the refund but I finally got it.

Has anyone used reputation armor that would be willing to prove they used them and share your name so we can search and see what they have done for you?

Review by Only An Idiot, February 26, 2010

In response to “Has anyone used reputation armor that would be willing to prove they used them and share your name so we can search and see what they have done for you?”

My 2 cents to your question:

Sure lets all tell you who we are so you can see the problem we had so you can make it worse and undo what reputation armor has done for us. We paid a company $3000 to help bury fake reviews about us and now we will post them online for everyone to see anyway? Use your brain! I reviewed reputation armor on hete with 5 stars and they work regardless of what anyone says or their experience with reputation armor, reputation armor did a kick-ass job for me.

Ben < yes that is my real name!

I questioned this companies ethics when I saw complaints online about them and they told me to use another company so I did. The other company I used basically ripped me off and I called reputation armour back and they helped me get my money back from the people that ripped me. I have yet to sign with reputation armour but they seem to be nice people.

Reputation Armor did what they promised and more. They are the real deal. I read some ad stuff about them online but it was obviously from their competition. I decided to use them because they let me pay with a credit card and that is way safe.

I would not hire them again. They did a good job but I had to pay them over $6500 and they quoted me $4500. I feel like I was overcharged and when I mentioned this to them they said I could get a refund of the full amount but they would have to delete my good info they made.

Got a email telling me I had online complaints and a ripoff report scam link on Google indexes. I am a small business and can not afford to spend money on getting rid of my complaints. It is not fair that ripoff report can do this to me. Is there any free services that can help me? I loose money every week because of this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Review by Defamation, July 22, 2011

Here is a good article I found:

Spoken or written words (commentary) on a living person that affects his or her reputation. It can be in regard to business or have personal implications. If a blog, website, or forum publishes something harmful about you that damages your reputation, defamation has occurred. Both libel and slander are forms of defamation of character.

In most states you have to actually suffer a financial loss in order to have cause for legal action.

Slander:

Slander is when someone says something negative about you, with spoken words. Internet libel is frequently confused with internet slander, but slander primarily means the spoken word. If I say something negative about you to all of my friends that hurts your business and is 100% not true, this is slander.

Libel

Libel is the written word, as well as the recorded word. As a rule this includes radio and television broadcasts. If a reporter says something about you that is false, it is classified as libel. This also generally includes written reviews on blogs and forums, as well as review websites like RipOffReport.com, ComplaintsBoard.com and several others.

Can you Sue for Internet Slander / Libel?

Someone has posted lies and harmful articles about you online and you want to know if you can make them pay for damages. The answer is maybe (But Not Likely). Many product review websites, like RipoffReport.com, My3Cents, Yelp, Complaints Board, and the rest are all protected by a law called The Communications Decency Act ( or “CDA,” : 47 USC 230), which completely protects website owners from being held libel for content created by their website users.

Could you possible sue the actual person that generated the content? Perhaps, if you knew who they were and could prove they did it without a doubt. The problem is that website owners don’t (By Law) have to divulge this information to you, nor do they have any responsibility to log any user info like IP addresses and email addresses. Identifying who to sue can be an issue when it comes to most the review sites.

Does a person have a right to speak their opinion?

Completely, it’s a privileged right that we all have, and it is a constitutional right. However, an opinion must remain an opinion and be stated as such. It should never include detailed facts that can later be proven fictitious.

Can a person defend defamation in court?

If you sue someone for defamation (libel or slander) and they demonstrate in court that what they said or wrote is true, you’re going to lose your case. Just because something is embarrassing or upsetting isn’t enough. If it’s true, you shouldn’t sue. You’ll only lose time and money and then in the end, your case.

Can I remove internet slander / libel from offending websites?

Almost certainly not, except if you can prove that the website owner wrote it and that it was 100% untrue. If it was user generated content (Written By A Site User or Member) they do not have to remove the content, nor reveal to you who wrote that content. It’s all sheltered by the CDA (Communications Decency Act). Rip off report and its clones have more or less all declared that they will NEVER remove user generated content.

They are 100% protected by the CDA and the user generated content is the foundation for their hideous, little business model. The online complaints on their website are what drives more traffic to their website and makes them revenue in one way or another.
